About Business & Consumer TPS and FPS

It is a legal requirement that companies do not make unsolicited calls / send
unsolicited faxes to business or consumer numbers registered on the TPS/FPS. There is a maximum fine
of £5000 for non-compliance.
The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) is a central opt out register
whereby individuals (and businesses too as from 25th June 2004) can
register their wish not to receive unsolicited sales and marketing telephone calls.
The Fax Preference Service (FPS) is a central opt out register whereby businesses
can register their choice not to receive unsolicited sales and marketing faxes.
